Engineering
Projects
Our container design and materials projects have resulted
in the development of bottles with unique properties for
specific applications. A few of the particular issues
which have been solved and for which containers can be
supplied include:
Prototype Containers
Barrier-layer bottles for packaging aromatic hydrocarbon
solvents as a replacement for glass and fluorinated bottles.
Currently available as a 5-layer coextrusion container,
an inner polyamide layer allows for the packaging of such
solvents as xylene, dipentene, limonene and benzene in
compliance with 49 CFR, Chapter 1, Part 173, Appendix
B, Permeation & Compatibility.
Extremely low particulate and ionic extractable results
are provided with PPQ resin single-layer bottles. Suggested
applications include parts-per-quadrillion chemicals and
photoresist. Additional benefits include resistance to
oxidation discoloration of the bottle and sustained clarity
of packaged solutions containing nitric acid. Available
in 4-liter round with 38-439 neck finish and 2.5 liter
square with 45mm, tamper evident, closure.
Development Projects
Affordable single-layer inert bottles produced with a
cost effective fluropolymer resin
4-layer coextruded, PVDF wetted, cost-effective chemically
resistant bottle.
DOT Special Permit SP-14656 has been issued to PurePak
Technology Corporation to allow 6 x 2.5, 4 x 2.5 and 1
x 2.5 liter packaging of up to 70% nitric acid in the
current PPQ resin bottle without innovative use of a metal
overpack. This container offers chemical packages with
numerous advantages over glass bottles including, safety,
higher purity, lower extractables, ease of handling, reduced
inventory and smaller package footprint.
PurePak Technology is unique in their ability to have
a strong understanding of plastic containers combined
with years of experience in the high-purity chemical business.
If you face challenges packaging your chemicals in compliance
with 49CFR or you are considering custom containers for
your products, PurePak Technology should be your partner
of choice for novel next generation package development.

With
the issuance of DOT Special Permit 14656, chemical packagers can now
package 70% Nitric Acid in a 2.5 liter plastic bottle without an overpack,
in full compliance with 49 CFR, Part 173.158. The 2.5 liter bottle,
manufactured with PPQ resin, provides the chemical packager numerous
benefits over glass including safety, high-purity, ease of handling,
reduced inventory, and smaller package footprint.
